NISW is a non-profit making organisation, funded by the Department of Health and Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills. We have a proven track record in developing medical devices, therapeutics, diagnostics, software & service delivery innovations to maximise benefits for patients, NHS staff and the wider healthcare community.
NISW consists of innovation managers, and a network of Trust based Innovation Leaders (TILs) who work closely with NHS staff with an aim to bring these ideas to reality.
NISW has created a complete support infrastructure to enable the identification and development of the Trusts Intellectual Property for the benefit of the Trust and the wider healthcare sector. We work through a stage-gate process to bring ideas from concept through to reality. An outline of the steps can be seen below:
